This is a Brian Littlewood signed & dated 1979 original watercolour of Colonel Gadaffi's yacht. It was a presentation from Halsey Marine International to Renbest International.

Brian Littlewood was born in London in 1934 and educated at University College. His etchings, traditional and modern vessels, were published by H.C. Dickens of St James. He became a full-time artist in 1977 and was a yachtsman, etcher and watercolourist who spent many years sailing and chartering boats along the eastern seaboard of the United States. He is a listed artist who lived and worked in East Anglia.

Libyan leader Colonel Muammar Gadaffi was one of the most controversial figures on the world stage during the 1970s, 80s and 90s. He liked nothing better than relaxing on the Mediterranean in his floating palace, Al Farah. The superyacht could sleep eight guests in VIP cabins and 12 crew and had a hairdressing salon specially installed.

Approximate size: framed 786mm (31.5") x 588mm (23.5") ; image 510mm (20.5") x 336mm (13.5").

The painting is in excellent condition. The frame is in original condition could benefit from a little touching up. Please see photographs for detailed condition.
