Set of Two Antique Large Polychrome Bisque Figures/Statues Boy & Girl German - Sold
This listing is for a set of two antique large polychrome bisque figures/statues of a boy & girl, probably German. Both figures are beautifully detailed in the style of Heubach. The first statue is a young boy with toy rifle & a toy sword at his side. The second is of a young girl with a broken toy soldier. She holds the head of the soldier in one hand & the body in the other. Both are unmarked, apart from what looks like a pattern number on the base of the girl, but are likely to be German circa 1880.
Approximate dimensions: 425mm (17") high x 160mm (6.5") diameter at the base.
The boy appears to be in perfect condition. The girl has had some restoration to the bonnet and has had her left arm re-attached. The paintwork on both is good, and overall they are in good condition for their age. Please see photographs for detailed condition.
